TheraPed

At Thera-Ped-Moncton "We're with you every step of the way."

Painful feet, swollen legs and feet, leg and knee pain, back pain, arthritis, or even diabetes, at Thera-Ped Moncton we can help. Trained in foot and lower limb assessments, our job is to design, manufacture, modify and fit foot orthoses (orthotics) and footwear to help you with painful and/or debilitating conditions of the feet and legs.

As Certified Pedorthists, we are taught to view the foot and the shoe as a unit. We attempt to assure that these work together to achieve optimal foot wellness. Our scope of practice is completely non-invasive and offers "tangible" therapy for painful and deformed feet and legs.

Tangible therapy is a treatment that you can hold physically in your hand and use every day. A Certified Pedorthist uses custom and/or standard footwear and orthoses to treat your specific condition.

Getting Started

At Thera-Ped Moncton, the first thing the Pedorthist will do is perform an assessment on your condition. This can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour, depending on your case. In most cases, the initial evaluation lasts 40 minutes and involves the following:

  • History taking;
  • Physical and biomechanical assessment of both feet and lower legs;
  • Standing and walking analysis, including a pedograph (pressure analysis);
  • Consultation;
  • If assessing a custom foot orthoses (insoles), then casting for these devices is performed.

What Are the Cost Involved?

Costs of pedorthic therapy vary within each particular case. Only once your Pedorthist has finished a complete assessment can he/she explain to you what costs are involved in the prescribed or recommended treatments.
